Eco-Logic Environmental Engineering’s Recycle Roofing Technology (RRT) Solves a Major Disposal Problem with its Latest Technology Breakthrough
Based on its successful Hydrocarbon Recovery Technology (HRT) which has several industrial decarbonization applications for the Mining and Oil & Gas Industries Eco-Logic has pioneered another significant technology which solves the annual problem of disposing 15 million tons of asphalt roofing in landfills in the U.S. by completely breaking down roofing waste into it original constituents making them 100% recyclable. There is an estimated >150 million tons in stockpiles and landfills that could be recycled. This has significant implications for asphalt shingle manufacturers as well as landfill operators.
Landfill Leachate Treatment
Eco-Logic takes a number of engineering design factors into consideration when planning a leachate treatment system. For example, leachate flows and characteristics are a function of the landfill’s contents and age, as well as the site’s prevailing weather conditions and geology. Flows may increase during wet weather months. Organic acid production usually increases in the early years, then decreases as the landfill contents age. The leachate will require treatment during the active years of the landfill and for many additional years, possibly decades, after the facility is closed. Leachate treatment designs can vary dramatically in size, ranging from a few gallons per minute to several hundreds of gallons per minute.
Oil and Gas Waste
Oil and gas waste management is the systematic handling, treatment, and disposal of waste materials generated during the exploration, extraction, refining, and distribution processes within the oil and gas industry. The goal of effective waste management is to minimize the environmental and health impact, promote sustainability, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Oil and gas wastes can exist in different types, such as liquid waste, semiliquid rubbish, solid rubbish, chemical waste, spent catalysts, emissions, etc. Waste types and quantities may vary depending on operations, production stage, and location of oil and gas facilities.
Eco-Logic employs proprietary treatment technologies to remove contaminants and pollutants from waste streams. Recycling and reusing treated waste materials, such as produced water for irrigation or reusing drilling cuttings for land reclamation, can help minimize waste volumes and conserve resources.
