Eco-Logic OBM/SBM Recycling System
Eco-Logic’s Oil-Based/Synthetic-Based Mud (OBM/SBM) Recycling System provides new significant profit increase potentials to both OBM/SBM Producers and Drillers. Oil-Based/Synthetic-Based Mud (OBM/SBM) cutting is a hazardous by-product generated during oil-well drilling. While the number of wells drilled annually fluctuates around the world, the U.S. can be expected to drill between 4,000 and 5,000 wells annually. It has been estimated that around 20-30% of oil wells are typically drilled using OBM/SBM, with the majority of wells utilizing water-based mud instead. This is primarily due to environmental concerns and the fact that OBM/SBM is often only necessary for drilling through particularly unstable formations like reactive shales. Eco-Logic’s technology allows for the recycling of OBM/SBM allowing a more liberal use of OBM/SBM with environmental and economics restraints removed.
