About Oman Environmental Services Holding Company

Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah) was established in 2007 to support a cohesive plan laid out in a National Strategy Report in 2006 to promote proper waste management practices. This includes the effective use of resources, development of adequate infrastructure and implementation of sustainable goals to make a lasting impact on the country’s future.
Headquartered in Muscat and operating under the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), be’ah is responsible for managing municipal, industrial and healthcare waste in the country, providing waste management services from collection to disposal to both private and public sectors.

About Eco-Logic Environmental Engineering

Since 1993 Eco-Logic has been devoted to solving industrial problems related to Mining, Oil & Gas, and other industries and has more than 120 successfully implemented projects in the USA, Mexico, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Oman, and Australia. Eco-Logic Technologies perform common Oil & Gas and industrial operations with uncommon ability to reduce (by as much as 90%) energy use and CO2  footprint while delivering faster, cheaper, more effective results

Eco-Logic OBM/SBM Recycling System

August 2024 - Eco-Logic’s Oil-Based/Synthetic-Based Mud (OBM/SBM) Recycling System provides new significant profit increase potentials to both OBM/SBM Producers and Drillers. Oil-Based/Synthetic-Based Mud (OBM/SBM) cutting is a hazardous by-product generated during oil-well drilling. While the number of wells drilled annually fluctuates around the world, the U.S.  can be expected to drill between 4,000 and 5,000 wells annually. It has been estimated that around 20-30% of oil wells are typically drilled using OBM/SBM, with the majority of wells utilizing water-based mud instead. This is primarily due to environmental concerns and the fact that OBM/SBM is often only necessary for drilling through particularly unstable formations like reactive shales. Eco-Logic’s technology allows for the recycling of OBM/SBM allowing a more liberal use of OBM/SBM with environmental and economics restraints removed.

New Enhanced Oil Recovery THP FracTM

July 8, 2024 - Thermal Hydro-Pneumatic System or THP-Frac is a new Eco-Logic enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technology, it is designed to generate high quality steam and increase pressure at the formation level and reduce oil viscosity in order to ease the flow of crude oil into the wellbore. MoU was recently signed with Pertamina to demonstrate Eco-Logic’s system.

Conventional techniques used for increasing the amount of crude oil that can be extracted from an oil field is achieved by gas injection, chemical injection, or thermal heating. THP FracTM is a new means of enhancing oil recovery at lower economic and environmental cost than conventional methods.

The chemicals used are environmentally friendly and neutral in pH and the gases released in the formation are mainly high quality super-heated steam. The technology is implemented in situ by mobilizing the equipment to the well and connecting it to the existing steam flood facilities or directly to the production tree.

Eco-Logic Environmental Engineering’s Recycle Roofing Technology (RRT) Solves a Major Disposal Problem with its Latest Technology Breakthrough

June 26, 2024 - Based on its successful Hydrocarbon Recovery Technology (HRT) which has several industrial decarbonization applications for the Mining and Oil & Gas Industries Eco-Logic has pioneered another significant technology which solves the annual problem of disposing 15 million tons of asphalt roofing in landfills in the U.S. by completely breaking down roofing waste into it original constituents making them 100% recyclable. There is an estimated >150 million tons in stockpiles and landfills that could be recycled. This has significant implications for asphalt shingle manufacturers as well as landfill operators.

About Eco-Logic’s Hydrocarbon Recovery Technology

Eco-Logic has developed a proprietary technology known as HRT (Hydrocarbon Recovery Technology). This technology is based on the physical principle of solvent extraction which has been used by humanity for thousands of years. The unique features of the technology are:

  • The proprietary solvent is a mixture of solvents produced under specific conditions and it is designed using specific solubility parameters to work with the target hydrocarbons to be recovered.
  • The solvent is Non-Flammable which reduces the risk of fire under industrial conditions and works at ambient temperature and pressure.
  • The system works under a closed loop regime allowing usage of the solvent repeatedly.
  • The solvent is hydrophobic which allows for full separation of oil/water emulsions, reverse emulsions, and oil/water/solids suspensions and sludges.
  • The energy consumption is less than 10% of that of the other systems available in the market today. The carbon footprint of the process is also substantially smaller than those commercial systems available.
  • The hydrocarbons recovered maintain all their original chemical and physical properties as they do not react with the solvent, and they do not get exposed to high temperatures (~90oC max) or are subjected to oxidation or decomposition.

Other HRT Applications for the Oil & Gas industry include hydrocarbon recovery from:

  • OBM/SBM Cuttings
  • Unconventional Oils
  • Tank Bottoms
  • Oil Sludges
  • Contaminated Sands and Soils
  • Asphalt Recycling

Free Radical Remediation (FreeRad) In-situ

February 15, 2024 - Currently being used in Oman and based on a series of physical, chemical, and biological processes, Eco-Logic has developed and applied a technology to enhance and expedite degradation of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. This technology has been successfully used to treat contaminated soils, waters, and sludge, varying from drilling fluids residues to API separators and tank bottoms. The technology works best in the range of 10,000 ppm to 100,000 ppm TPH, up to a maximum of 250,000 TPH and in the absence of heavy loads of asphaltenes and paraffinic compounds.

Free Radical Remediation (FreeRad) Ex-situ

October 9, 2023 - Successful use of Eco-Logic’s award winning FreeRAD Enhanced Soil Remediation technology at an Advario tank terminal in Oma. Eco-Logic technology is based on the use of three principles - physical, chemical, and biological - to decompose (oxidize) or break the hydrocarbon chains. The treated soil was left in a fertile state that is compatible and favorable to the growth of any vegetables.
